Radigan. Radigan was created by “Clark Aiken,” the pseudonym of Frederick C. Davis (Donald O’Keefe Adams, Bill Brent, Duke Buckland, Carter Cole, Dennis Dayle, Murray Gifford, Cyrus Hatch, Mark Hazzard, Jingling Kid, Guy Kerry, Paul Kirk, Show-Me McGee, Moon Man, Operator #5, Ravenwood, Secrets, Inc., Peter Trapp II, Peter van Dyk), and appeared in four stories in Gold Seal Detective in 1936, beginning with “Rough-em-up Radigan” (Gold Seal Detective, Jan. 1936).
Radigan is the kind of policeman that the Good Cop/Bad Cop routine is made for—he specializes in Bad Cop behavior towards criminals and shady witnesses. However, in his defense, he gets results.
