Amiel. Amiel was created by “A. Benjamin,” the pseudonym of José Canellas Casals (Armando, Jaime Bazán, Black (III), Carlos and Marcos Bon, Bronkos, César, Thalma Klan, Judit, Mario, Nick, Red Circle, Rin-Tin-Tin (I), Sam, Sankro, Spaceman (II), Titán (II), Toby, Capitán Velez, Mack Wan, Fernando Zabal, Khun Zivan, Zimbra), and Avelino Aróztegui, and appeared in the comic strip “El Fantasma Gigante del Mundo Maldito” (Flecha, 1938).
Amiel is a faithful servant of the Emperor of Dakar, a brave warrior, and the fiancé of Princess Dana. However, when the wizard Slim informs the Emperor that God has condemned Dakar to disappear, the Emperor mocks Slim. Amiel criticizes the Emperor’s behavior and is banished. Amiel flees to the wilderness and joins up with the “Invincible,” a group of brave warriors, and a long fight follows to depose the Emperor, save Dana, defeat Amiel’s rival Funior, and restore sanity to Dakar.
