The Red Circle. The Red Circle was created by the Spanish creators José Canellas Casals (Amiel, Armando, Jaime Bazán, Black (III), Carlos and Marcos Bon, Bronkos, CesarJuditThalma Klan, Mario, Nick, Rin-Tin-Tin (I), Sam, Sankro, Spaceman (II), Titán (II), Toby, Capitán Velez, Mack Wan, Fernando Zabal, ZimbraKhun Zivan) and Marc Farell (Corsair X, Isaak & Benjamin, Margaret, Pablo & Sidney, Sam, Titán (II), Toby, Mack Wan, Khun Zivan) and appeared in the comic El Círculo Rojo #1-12 (1936).

The Red Circle is an organization of supercriminals led by Merli and Miriam. The Circle wars on the entire world from their floating island headquarters, which is guarded by flying androids and remote-controlled lions. One particular conflict that the Circle foments is war between the countries of Livorna and Mandona. The Circle makes use of its gas mask-wearing hitmen, the Men In Black, and SCIENCE!, including high-tech weapons and vehicles, and the results–aerial battles, the bombings of civilian populations, attacks with gas–presage what happened during the Spanish Civil War.

The Red Circle are opposed by Black, a millionaire inventor, and his friend Sophia; Black has his own SCIENCE! weapons and vehicles, including the new high explosive Blackerina. The war between Black and the Red Circle stretches around the world, from the Himalayas, to a Thuggee-infested India, and the ocean bed.

The Red Circle appears in stories with titles like “The Ghost Submarine,” “Black in the Power of the Red Circle,” and “The Forest of Terror.”
