Ferret, Frank. Frank Ferret was created by Alec G. Pearson (El Caballero, Captain Montana, Stanley Dare, Doctor Duval, Royston Gower, Dr. Messina, Dr. Nevada) and appeared in a number of stories in Union Jack Library, Magnet, and Pluck from 1904 to at least 1907, beginning with “Frank Ferret, Detective” (Union Jack Library, 1904).

Frank Ferrett is a middle-class Englishman who loves big game hunting but can’t afford it. Instead he decides to become a private detective so that he can hunt the most dangerous game: humans. He is tall, spare, with a ragged mustache, shrewd eyes, and a rarely-seen sense of humor. His offices are off the Strand in London.
