Fenton, Lawrie. Lawrie Fenton was created by “Michael Annesley,” the pseudonym of F.A.M. Webster (Max Cramer, Alphabet Crisp, Husky Hillier, Bruce Logan, Old Ebbie, Peter Pirow), and appeared in fifteen novels from 1935 to 1950, beginning with Room 14: A Secret Service Adventure.
Lawrence “Lawrie” Fenton’s cover is with the British Foreign Service, but he is actually an agent for the British Secret Intelligence Service. He is dispatched to various hotspots around the world, first against the fascists and then, after World War Two, against the communists.
