Logan, Bruce. Bruce Logan was created by F.A.M. Webster (Max Cramer, Alphabet Crisp, Lawrie Fenton, Husky Hillier, Old Ebbie, Peter Pirow) and appeared in four stories in Lloyd’s Magazine from 1920 to 1922, beginning with “The Curse of the Lion” (Lloyd’s Magazine, Apr. 1920).
Bruce Logan is an Africa Hand. Bruce Logan, Jack Spencer, and Hugh Trent are three upper-class English clubmen in their thirties who have spent years in Africa exploring, capturing animals for the Zoological Society, and otherwise encountering strange and unusual events and people. They tell each other stories about what they’ve found: a lion god’s death-curse, talking apes, a Tree Wizard who can conjure up shades of the dead, and so on.
