Blake, James. James Blake was created by William Buchanan and Basil Dickey (Black Hawk, Jack Holt (II), Masked Marvel, Phantom Rider, Purple Monster, Lance Reardon, Stanley Stanfield, Tiger Woman) and appeared in the movie serial Blake of Scotland Yard (1937).

James Blake is an intrepid former Inspector for Scotland Yard who has become an independently wealthy private investigator and two-fisted fighter for the U.K. He develops a death ray to use against criminals, but Count Basil Zegelloff, a munitions dealer, finds out about the ray and hires the Scorpion, an internationally-infamous thief, to steal the ray. After various vigorous adventures, fights, and encounters, Blake arrests Zegelloff and the Scorpion.
