Wade, Inspector. Inspector Wade was created by Edgar Wallace (Viola Beech, Brigand, Wireless Bryce, Felix Carfew, Dixon, Elegant Edward, Inspector Elk, Educated Evans, Four Square Jane, Dixon Hawke, Heine, Felix Jenks, Just Men, King Kong (I), Larry Loman, Superintendent Minter, Policy Sleuth, Oliver Rater, John G. Detective Inspector Wade of Scotland Yard is a Great Detective modeled on Sexton Blake. Wade is a suave, pipe-smoking police detective very much in the traditional English style. With his assistant Donavan, Wade fights crime across England, Europe, and even into Africa, sometimes coming into conflict with more exotic elements, like societies of assassins.
