Jones, Sheerluck. Sheerluck Jones was created by “Henry Hutt,” the pseudonym of Charles Hamilton (Billy Bunter, Arthur Augustus d’Arcy, Ken King, Len Lex, Ferrers Locke, Herlock Sholmes, Harry Wharton) and appeared in four stories in The Magnet from 1939 to 1940, beginning with “The Disappearance of Dunne-Browne” (The Magnet #1651, Oct. 7, 1939).
Sheerluck Jones (initially “Sheerluck Homes”) is a Great Detective. He is a Sherlock Holmes parody who is assisted by Dr. Spotson.
