Lex, Len. Len Lex was created by Charles Hamilton (Billy Bunter, Arthur Augustus d’Arcy, Sheerluck Jones, Ken King, Ferrers Locke, Herlock Sholmes, Harry Wharton) and appeared in thirty-six stories in Modern Boy in 1936 and 1937, beginning with "The Schoolboy Detective" (Modern Boy, Oct. 3, 1936).
Len Lex is a crime-solving “schoolboy detective.” Lex is "the orphaned nephew of a Scotland Yard detective-inspector," and has his own Watson, “a blundering fellow schoolboy named Peter Porridge."
