Ford, Sherman. Sherman Ford was created by Howard R. Garis (Tom Cardiff, Larry Dexter, Dick Hamilton, Amos Henderson, Professor Jephtha Jonkin, Motion Picture Chums, Moving Picture Boys, Mystery Boys (I), Nat Ridley, Rocket Riders, Smith Brothers, Don Sturdy, Tom Swift, Teddy (II), Venture Boys) and appeared in six stories in People’s in 1909, beginning with “The Clue of Fate” (People’s, Mar. 1909).
Sherman Ford is a Great Detective modeled on Sherlock Holmes. He is a trained musician who applies his intelligence and training to solving crimes.
