Dexter, Larry. Larry Dexter was created by Howard R. Garis (Tom Cardiff, Sherman Ford, Dick Hamilton, Amos Henderson, Professor Jephtha Jonkin, Motion Picture Chums, Moving Picture Boys, Mystery Boys (I), Nat Ridley, Rocket Riders, Smith Brothers, Don Sturdy, Tom Swift, Teddy (II), Venture Boys) and appeared in the eight-book “Larry Dexter” series, beginning with From Office Boy to Reporter (1907) and concluding with Larry Dexter’s Great Chase (1927). Larry Dexter is a reporter who works his way up from an office boy to foreign correspondent, covering crime and solving several of them as well as having adventures overseas and at the front during World War One. Dexter also teams up with Dick Hamilton on several occasions.
