Bodney, Jim. Jim Bodney was created by Johnston McCulley (The Avenging Twins, Bat (II), Black Star, Crimson Clown, Captain Goodwin, Green Ghost, Richard Hughes, Man in Purple, Mongoose, Peter Noggins, Peanut Pete, Spider (I), Thubway Tham, Thunderbolt (I), Terry Trimble, Whirlwind, Zorro) and appeared in a number of stories in Detective Novels Magazine, beginning with “Murder Under Guard” (Detective Novels Magazine, Feb. 1940).

Jim Bodney is from the little town of Marine Vista in southern California, but he has left Marine Vista to become a hard-boiled special investigator for the Los Angeles District Attorney.
