Parker, Carr. Carr Parker was created by “Harl Vincent,” the pseudonym of Harold Vincent Schoepflin (Ward Platt, Prowler, Thelda), and appeared in “Vagabonds of Space” (Astounding Stories, Nov. 1930) and “Creatures of Vibration” (Astounding Stories, Jan. 1932).

In the 24th century Carr Parker is the president of International Airways. But he tires of business life and chucks it aside to go on a exploring trip of the solar system accompanied by his Martian friend Mado. But while in the asteroid belt they receive a telepathic message telling them that a giant space amoeba is destroying an alien spaceship. Carr and Mado take the aliens’ final message to their home, the planet Europa, whose natives, though human, are technologically superior. The Europans discover that the natives of Ganymede are planning to invade the solar system, and Parker is key in helping the Europans defeat the Ganymedeans. In the sequel Carr, Mado, and various family members crash-land on Titan, which is inhabited by technologically advanced humans and red-skinned barbarians. After much adventure Carr et al. succeed in escaping.
