Ocean Wireless Boys. The Ocean Wireless Boys were created by “Wilbur Lawton,” the pseudonym of John H. Goldfrap (Border Boys, Boy Aviators, Bungalow Boys, Dreadnought Boys, Motor Cycle Chums, Motor Rangers), and appeared in the six-book “Ocean Wireless Boys” series, beginning with The Ocean Wireless Boys on the Atlantic (1914) and concluding with The Ocean Wireless Boys on the War Swept Seas (1917).

Jack is a Brooklyn native who invents a “Universal Detector,” a radio which can receive signals from any source. He and a friend use the Detector to become naval wireless operators and help ships in peacetime and war. They find lost liners, they work on the "iceberg patrol" (in the wake of the Titanic sinking), and they fight the Germans during World War One.
