Motor Cycle Chums. The Motor Cycle Chums were created by “Lt. Howard Payson,” the pseudonym of John H. Goldfrap (Border Boys, Boy Aviators, Bungalow Boys, Dreadnought Boys, Motor Rangers, Ocean Wireless Boys), and appeared in the six-book “Motor Cycle Chums” series, beginning with The Motor Cycle Chums Around the World (1912) and concluding with The Motor Cycle Chums Through Historic America (1915).
The three Motor Cycle Chums are Tom Chase, Ned Winston, and the Chinese stereotype Wing Lung, a trio of teenagers who drive their motorcycles across Canada, the Pacific Northwest, South Africa, and Central and South America, and find adventure and fight crime wherever they go.
