Frost, I.V. I.V. Frost was created by Donald Wandrei (Webster Conning, Man with the Molten Face, Cyrus North, Duane Sharon) and appeared in eighteen stories in Clues Detective Magazine from 1934 to 1936, beginning with “Frost” (Clues Detective Magazine, Sept. 1934).
I.V. Frost is "..a curious, gaunt, hatchet-faced man with an engaging smile, steel-trap mind and a taste for sharply pungent cigarettes of his own design..." Frost is a consulting detective with the intellect and crime-solving approach of Sherlock Holmes and the talent for invention of Doc Savage. (Frost wears a bulletproof cloak, drives the gadget-laden Demon, and creates an improved centrifuge, among other inventions). Frost is assisted by Jean Moray, a stunningly beautiful woman who attracts the lustful attention of every man she meets. Moray only has eyes for Frost, but he respects her intelligence while not being at all romantically attracted to her.
