Froget, Monsieur. Monsieur Froget was created by the French author Georges Simenon (Jean Dollent, Yves Jarry, Joseph Leborgne, Jules Maigret, Monsieur Sancette) and appeared in thirteen stories in Détective in 1929 and 1930; the stories were collected in Les Treize Coupables (1932).

Monsieur Froget is an Examining Magistrate who investigates murders, both among the slums of Paris and in the hinterlands of France, which he reaches by driving his aging auto. Froget is affected by the poor, the desperate, the homeless and the prostitutes he deals with on a daily basis, but he is skillful and more than competent in solving the crimes he encounters.
