Walker, Colonel. Colonel Walker was created by Melville Davisson Post (Colonel Braxton, Monsieur Jonquelle, Henry Marquis, Randolph Mason, Uncle Abner) and appeared thirteen stories in 1920 and 1921, beginning with “The Outlaw” (Everybody’s Magazine, Mar 1920); the stories were collected in Walker of the Secret Service (1924).

Colonel Walker is the head of the United States Secret Service, having worked his way to the top after having begun his career as an ordinary agent. He is a hard and clever man who does what he has to do to stop the Germans and other enemies of the US.
