Peters, Eric. Eric Peters was created by Octavus Roy Cohen (David Carroll, Chew Evans, Max Gold, Jim Hanvey, Florian Slappey) and appeared in five stories in The Saturday Evening Post and one novel from 1924 to 1930, beginning with “Traveling Suspenses” (The Saturday Evening Post, Mar. 22, 1924).

Eric Peters is an African-American. He is an “eight-year service man in the employ of the Pullman Company” who speaks horrible English, shuffles, and is on the wrong side of lazy. But he finds himself involved in crimes which he somehow solves.
