Collins, John. John Collins was created by Norbert Davis (Doan, William Dodd, Dr. Flame, Mark Hull, The Judge, Max Latin, Simeon Saxon, Ben Shaley) and appeared in three stories in Black Mask in 1942 and 1943, beginning with “Don’t You Cry For Me” (Black Mask, May 1942).

John Collins is a Sergeant in Army Intelligence who works undercover as a piano player. Collins is abrasive, aggressive, and distinctly unlikeable.
