Claymore, Tod. Tod Claymore was created by “Tod Claymore,” the pseudonym of Hugh Clevely (Maxwell Archer, Sexton Blake, Gang-Smasher, Inspector Williams), and appeared in eight novels from 1939 to 1957, beginning with You Remember the Case.
Before World War Two Claymore had been a tennis player who competed at Wimbledon. During the war he is a wing commander for the British Air Force. After the war he is a writer and amateur detective with similarities to Ellery Queen.
