Carter, Ken. Ken Carter was created by Norvell Page (Dick Barrett, Bill Carter, Death Angel, Dunne, Octopus (II), Feargod Peace, Scorpion (II), Spider (II), Jules Tremaine, Wan Tengri) and appeared in seven stories in Ten Detective Aces and Dime Detective Magazine in 1933 and 1934, beginning with “Hell’s Music” (Ten Detective Aces, June 1933).

Ken Carter is a tall, thin man who had been a professional juggler before abandoning it to become a private detective, at which he is successful and becomes wealthy. His stories lean to the bizarre; there are dead men dangling from parachutes, bodies turned blue or into stone, music which kills, curses involving "Satan's hoof," and so on. Carter has a "lithe, long body" and "pale blue eyes." He is not nationally known, but in the Northeast he is infamous and feared by criminals. He has a long record of killing, although as he says, "When I have killed, it has been to save my own life. And those I killed already had taken human life."
