Holt, Clay. Clay Holt was created Carroll John Daly (Vee Brown, Marty Day, Satan Hall, Terry Mack, Mr. Strang, Race Williams) and appeared in six stories in Dime Detective Magazine from 1934 to 1939, beginning with “Death Drops In” (Dime Detective, July 1, 1934).

Clay Holt is a Bellem. Clay Holt (in one story he is called “Carl”) is a hard-boiled detective in New York City. He is a sucker for a pretty face.
