Day, Marty. Marty Day was created by Carroll John Daly (Vee Brown, Satan Hall, Clay Holt, Terry Mack, Mr. Strang, Race Williams) and appeared in four stories in Dime Detective Magazine in 1933 and 1934, beginning with “The Curtain of Steel” (Dime Detective Magazine, Feb. 1933).
Marty Day used to be rich, but he was swindled out of his money and lost everything. On the verge of suicide, he is contacted by a mysterious figure, “the Reckoner,” who appoints Day to be his agent and legman. Together they right wrongs and see that vengeance or justice is done.
