Briggs, Job. Job Briggs was created by Arthur O. Friel (Dugan (II), Lucio León, Roderick McKay, Pedro & Lourenço, Sixto Scott, Wallace Sparhawk) and appeared in three stories in Adventure (U.S.) in 1925 and 1926, beginning with “The Spook” (Adventure (U.S.), Oct. 10, 1925).
In the late 19th century Job Briggs is a canny mountain man in the Shawngunk hillmen territory of northern Canada and Alaska. He is friendly with the natives and is given to exclamations like “By Godfrey! Ye’ve got legs like a steam ingyne!”
