Bainbridge. Bainbridge was created by “Burt L. Standish,” a pseudonym used in this case by William Gilbert Patten (Bob Hunter (I), Frank and Dick Merriwell), and appeared in five stories and story serials in Top-Notch Magazine from 1912 to 1915, beginning with “Crucial Fire” (Top-Notch Magazine, June 15, 1912).

Bainbridge is a virile, manly lumberjack in the backwoods of Maine. Besides chopping down difficult trees, he must deal with forest fires, evil lumberjacks, lumber drives, and other such fearsome foes.
