Tinker, Tid. Tid Tinker was created by John Jo Carpenter and appeared in a number of stories in Fighting Western, beginning with “The Potroast Wrangler of Peachburg” (Fighting Western, Feb. 1945).
Once upon a time Tid Tinker was a rider and wrangler, but he “got knocked into a cocked hat at the Peachburg rodeo, rendering him unfit for hard riding.” Now he sells aluminum ware to ranchers and nesters, because the sales manager of the company told him that selling aluminum ware would be easy. It’s not–few of the ranchers or nesters have much money to spare. But Tinker does find good people in need of the two-gun help only he can provide.
