Tabb, Thomas. Thomas Tabb was created by Henry M. Hyde and appeared in a number of stories in The Saturday Evening Post in 1906, beginning with “A Diplomat of Finance” (The Saturday Evening Post, Apr 28, 1906).
Thomas Tabb is an old and wily businessman whose approach to collecting unpaid debts, from other businesses and from customers, involves a combination of guile and ruthlessness. This combination always works and always enriches him as well as his business—he usually ensures that what he is paid includes a bonus for himself as well as for the company for which he works.
