Stevens, Hoh-Hoh. “Hoh-Hoh” Stevens was created by H.H. Matteson and appeared in sixteen stories in Detective Fiction Weekly from 1934 to 1936, beginning with “A Cook From Heaven” (Detective Fiction Weekly, Mar. 24, 1934).
Hoh-Hoh Stevens is a deputy United States marshal who works the Alaskan coast and the Aleutian islands and has a variety of interesting adventures, from stopping Russian spies to putting a halt to bloodthirsty feuding fisherman. He likes to sing and is known as the “champion minstrel bard of the far Aleutians.”
