Prum, Artibus. Artibus Prum was created by the Dutch author Valkema Blouw and appeared in at least two novels from 1929 to at least 1930, beginning with Uit’t leven van Kapitein Prum.

Prum is a crime-solving Dutch newspaper reporter. He is a former ship’s captain who lost his leg in a shipwreck and now has a wooden leg. He becomes a reporter when he can no longer captain a ship and when his wife dies. He is a neat dresser and has a greying goatee. He is active in England, Paris, Monte Carlo, and India, and hunts tigers in addition to criminals.
