Lane Linklater,” the pseudonym of Alexander William Watkins (Hard-Boiled Karney, Hugo Oakes), and appeared in sixteen stories in Detective Fiction Weekly from 1936 to 1943, beginning with “The Face of Excitement” (Detective Fiction Weekly, May 30, 1936).
