Painter, Willie. Willie Painter was created by Frank Mann Harris and appeared in six stories in The Saturday Evening Post from 1924 to 1926, beginning with “The Journal of Willie” (The Saturday Evening Post, Dec. 6, 1924).

Willie Painter is a young “wizard of a jockey” from Canada. He works for Tom Robbins, who Painter says “owned” him, and fights the schemes of evil men and finds romance at the track.
