Nibsy the Newsboy. Nibsy the Newsboy was created by George McManus and appeared in the comic strip “Nibsy the Newsboy in Funny Fairyland” (The New York World, 1906).

Nibsy is an ordinary newsboy, selling newspapers like any other kid in New York City, when a fairy appears and takes him to fairyland, where he begins selling his newspapers to a king. Nibsy being a working class boy, his attitude toward royalty isn’t wholly positive, and the king suffers and is humiliated by what Nibsy tells him.
