Gilmartin, Laurence. Laurence Gilmartin was created by Charles Barry and appeared in fifteen novels from 1925 to 1939, beginning with Smaller Penny.

Laurence Gilmartin is a What’s All This, Then. During World War One he worked for the Intelligence Corps, but after the war ended he went to work for Scotland Yard, rising to Detective and later Superintendent. He is Watsoned by Larry, his roommate and a friend from school.
