Flaming Avenger. The Flaming Avenger appeared in a number of stories in Rover in 1933. The Flaming Avenger is a Costumed Avenger. Mat Selwood is the owner of a radio shop who is also a part-time inventor. Disgusted by the amount of crime he reads about and sees, he creates a suit of armor with a built-in flame-thrower and becomes the crime-fighting vigilante the Flaming Avenger.
