Dalmann, Víglundur. Víglundur Dalmann was created by “Valentínus,” the pseudonym of the Icelandic author Steindór Sigurðsson, and appeared in Sonur Hefndarinnar (1932) and Dularfulla Flugvjelin (1933).
Víglundur Dalmann is an Icelandic boy from a rural part of Iceland who is drawn into the adventurer Haukur Arnarr’s battles against gangsters and alcohol smugglers. Dalmann is hired by the mysterious “Raubvogel” (robbing bird) to spy for him, and Raubvogel turns out to be Arnarr. Arnarr himself is distinctly on the hard-boiled side.
