Bannister, Jim. Jim Bannister was created by Walter Frost (Jim Clavering, Ruggles) and appeared in five stories in Railroad Man’s Magazine and Gray Goose from 1907 to 1908, beginning with “Hard Luck of Bannister” (Railroad Man’s Magazine, Feb. 1907).

Jim Bannister is a railway detective in the western half of the United States. He is young and new at the job, and undergoes some rough moments because of it, but he is hard and clever and perseveres over those who oppose him.
