Captain Terror. “Wherever the tang of salt-water fills the air, and the thrill of adventure is in the wind–wherever a hopeless voice cries out against overpowering odds...there do we find the mighty Captain Terror, the most reckless, irresponsible, fun-loving salt outside Davy Jones’ locker!” Dan Kane, wealthy playboy, fought in the Spanish Civil War as Captain Terror, a seagoing vigilante–for what side is not made clear, but presumably for the Republicans against the fascists. After the War he faked his own death to become a “good-for-nothing playboy,” but the threat of German espionage in the United States brings him out of retirement. He has no super powers. The opponents he fights are ordinary criminals, Germans, and a Mad Scientist. He appears in stories with titles like “The Fiends of the Seas” and “The Torpedoes of Dr. Leech.”

First Appearance: USA Comics # 2 (Marvel), Nov 1941. 3 appearances, 1941-1942. Created by Mike Suchorsky and ?
