Ryvet, Inspector. Inspector Ryvet was created by “Carol Carnac,” the pseudonym of Edith Caroline Rivett-Carnac (Inspector Macdonald, Julian Rivers), and appeared in six novels from 1936 to 1940, beginning with Triple Death.

Inspector Ryvet works for Scotland Yard. “Ryvet’s usual expression was that of a man who finds the world a rather humorous place,” but “the half-smile in the Inspector’s eyes was a camouflage to the observant and analytical personality which lay behind.”
