Red Wolf. Red Wolf was created by “Philip F. Deere,” which in this case was a pseudonym used by Houston Irvine (Lucius Carey, Kid Buckaroo, Pinto Martin), and appeared in seven stories in Wild West Weekly from 1931 to 1932, beginning with “Kit of the Kiowa Trail” (Wild West Weekly, Dec. 12, 1931).

Kit Bancroft is half-Anglo, half-Apache, but he was raised as a farmboy in Arkansas. But following the murder of his father Bancroft pursues his father’s killers, using the Anglo identity of Kit Bancroft and the Apache identity of Red Wolf as and when needed.
