Ponder, Sgt. C.O. Sgt. C.O. Ponder was created by Walter Ripperger (Carter de Raven) and appeared in four stories and story serials in Double Detective and Detective Fiction Weekly from 1937 to 1939, beginning with “Flowers on a Grave” (Double Detective, Nov. 1937).

Sergeant C.O. Ponder is a Scientific Detective. He is “the most amiable of all manhunters, a rather stocky man with a square face, large, round, opaque, lackluster eyes.” He is a police detective who uses the most recent technological advances to solve crimes.
