Peale, Christopher. Christopher Peale was created by Dudley Sturrock (Pixie O’Hara) and appeared in ten stories in The London Magazine in 1913 and 1914, beginning with “How He Saved the S.S. ‘King-Emperor’” (The London Magazine, July 1913).

Christopher Peale is a Fop. Peale is a “bored-looking” and dandified youth. He is a languid member of the upper class who is reported to spend over £5000 pounds annually on clothes (and this was back when the pound meant something). But Peale is also the “star of the world’s aviators,” and was the first to cross the Atlantic in his plane, the Marion VII. He is always game for adventure, whether it is flying to a luxury liner on fire in the Atlantic or in helping the King of Pannolia elude pursuers.
