Frank, Detective (I). Detective Frank (I) was created by the German author Matthias Blank and appeared in the play Erlebnisse des Detektiv Frank (1908) and then in Erlebnisse des Detektiv Frank #1-5 (1910) and Detektiv Frank #1-7 (1916-1918); the series was reprinted in Sweden in 1910. He also had an unauthorized sequel, Dobrodruzství Detektiva Franka #1-18, in Czechoslovakia in (1908-1910).
Detective Frank (I) is a Great Detective. Among his enemies is the Fantomas-like Edgar Clifford. He appears in stories with titles like “The Uncanny Friend,” “The Story of Baron Brombin,” and “The Ghost House.”
