Faraday, Doc. Doc Faraday was created by William Heuman (Garrett Arnold) and appeared in a number of stories in Fighting Western, beginning with “The Doctor of Shiloh” (Fighting Western, Aug. 1945).

Doc Faraday, the best doctor west of the Missouri, came from the east ten years ago to a small cow town on Red Creek. He’s the only doctor in town, and people love him, both because of his skill and because he is kind about demanding payment for bills. Because of those things, they forgive him his weakness for liquor and for cards. He gets involved in catching outlaws, which he does through cleverness, not gunplay. He is a “tall gaunt man with a cavernous face and a large hooked nose. Gray eyes were slightly bloodshot…from drink.”
