Smith, Suicide. Suicide Smith is a "blitzkrieg buster" during WW2, a fighter pilot who initially leads a team known as the Air Commandos. Later on he becomes a solo operative, assisted by a young sidekick, Chuck Hardy, and Hinda, a female spy. Smith’s adventures occasionally verge on the fantastic: there is the German high-tech armored craft, the Seepanzer; the invisible Vultures of the Mikado, who attempt to destroy the Golden Gate Bridge; a German diamond-making machine in the jungles of Brazil; and the crown of Mohammed [sic], which commands the loyalties of all Muslims [sic]. After the war Smith fights communist and fascist subversion in Central and South America. He appears in stories with titles like “The Ace of Flame,” “Fury of the Fire-Birds,” and “Vultures of the Mikado.”
