Phantom Sphinx. 6000 years ago Egyptian general Amron was put in a hypnotic sleep by his father. A desert bandit revives him, but Amron receives a message from his father telling him “the time has come when you must be of service to mankind by using your ancient knowledge of magic against all evil,” so Amron begins punishing evil men. Amron has various plot-device magical powers, including flight, the ability to command the weather, and the ability to create illusions. He appears in stories with titles like “The Genii of Death” and “The Evil of Kali.”
