Music Master. John Wallace, a music teacher and concert violinist, tries to protect a violin maker who has discovered the secret to duplicating Stradivarius’ violins. For his pains Wallace is stabbed in the heart with a violin bow. The violin maker revives Wallace with a special set of pipes, which attunes Wallace’s body to musical frequencies. The violin maker then gives Wallace a set of magical pipes, which allow Wallace to fly, use musical notes as a forcefield or solidified weapon, and can even send the notes to carry out his orders. Wallace decides to fight evil as the Music Master. Assisted by sidekick Downbeat, the Music Master fights ordinary criminals, foreign agents, the Mad Fiddler, werewolves, and Shan Tai (the Lama Without A Face), among others. He appears in stories with titles like "The Demented Apparition," "Who Killed Professor Fredericks," and "A New Face A Day."
