Echo. Jim Carson, "star athlete and prize student," learns his family history after graduating from college: his father, a doctor, was murdered after performing facial surgery on a criminal. Then the ghost of Carson’s father visits him, and Carson vows to avenge him. He meets his sister, Cora, and his brother, the chemist “Dr. Doom--frail of body but brilliant of brain, carrying on the science research of his dead father." They equip him with Doom's creations: an invisibility belt and a paralyzing-ray ring. With those and with his excellent ventriloquism, Carson, now “The Echo,” kills his father’s murderer and then fights other criminals, from counterfeiters to zombies. The Echo appears in stories with titles like “The Watery Graveyard of Doomed Ships” and “Tangle With The Living Corpse.”
