Chan Li Po. Chan Li Po was created by Felix B. Caignet and appeared in the Cuban radio serial Chan Li Po (1934-1941) and the Cuban films La Serpiente Roja (1937) and El Monstruo en la Sombra (1955). Chan Li Po is a Great Detective modeled on Sherlock Holmes and Charlie Chan. The Chinese Chan Li Po takes on a variety of opponents, including marijuana kingpins and Communist masterminds, and is primarily active in London although his cases take him abroad as far as Havana. Chan Li Po’s catchphrase is “Have patience–much patience.”
